Dancing since the age of five, Candace knew she found her passion in her very first bellydance class.  She is now the proud owner and director of Harmony BellyDance Co. and Harmony Studios & Alternative Healing. She performs all over Vancouver Island, The Gulf Islands and Vancouver BC, Seattle, Portland Oregon and Sebastapol CA. She travels where ever necessary to train with world-renowned dancers and instructors; Suhaila Salimpour, Carolena Nericcio, Rachel Brice, Mira Betz, Kami Liddle, Zoe Jakes, Colleena Shakti, Samantha Emanuel, Mardi Love, Colette Hunter-Todorov, Heather Stants, Jill Parker and April Rose to name a few.

When Candace isn't teaching, training or performing, she spends her free time with her amazing husband Felipe, their brand new brilliantly gorgeous daughter Blaise, her beautiful sister and best friend Rayna, her awesome parents, her sweet, trouble making dog Cypress, her cats Tillee & Bootsy and the most amazing, fantastic friends a girl could ask for. Her newest adventure...

After many years learning different dance styles, Rayna fell in love with bellydancing and it's been her style of choice ever since. She and her sister Candace started bellydancing together in 1999, and while Rayna continued to study with Candace informally over the years, she recently returned to taking classes and performing. She's found the support, fun and friendship she was missing with Harmony Bellydance Co. and is a member of Ruby Ruffles and Sapphire Lace, performing troupes. She's also been taught by Sidona and Nila and has taken workshops with the talented Samantha Emanuel, Mardi Love and Mira Betz.

Rayna's other passions include make-up artistry, bikram yoga, the outdoors, anything creative and most importantly, her family and friends.

Victoria saw Harmony perform at folkfest in 2006 and was so inspired
she signed up the very next day for the beginner class.  She has enjoyed the opportunity of dancing and performing with Harmony ever since.  Victoria loves every aspect of getting ready for a show from the practicing to costume design.
Belly dancing has provided a creative outlet that not only is a great exercise but also allows her to be creative by utilizing skills she has learned to create custom pieces. Victoria enjoys performing both choreography and improvised dance with the lovely harmony dancers and hopes to inspire other women to keep active and not let their size deter them.
When Victoria is not dancing she is spending time with her husband and three children being active sailing, hiking, cycling, kayaking and swimming.

Meghan has been dancing with Candace for the last 4 years, and was excited to become member of her fusion troupe Ruby Ruffles recently. Before that she was an Amar dancer and student of Pamela Ball's, but she initially learned to dance Raks Sharki and folkloric Egyptian style with Linda Doerksen in the Comox Valley. Her sources of inspiration, and dancers that help her to evolve and grow, include Mira Betz, Ruby Beh, Kami Liddle, Rachel Brice, Bozenka, & Mardi Love. Dance is a necessity of life to her, and a physical & creative journey that she continues to find both challenging and fulfilling. She cherishes the teachers and friends she has made along the way, and hopes her journey will never end.

When she isn't dancing, Meghan loves reading, collecting shiny things, sweating in Bellyfit class, hugging fluffy animals, walking through forests, spending time with family and friends, and snuggling her marvelous & crafty husband.

Ashley took her first belly dancing class in 2010 and has been hooked ever since. She quickly outgrew the beginner class and jumped at the chance to train at Labyrinth Arts Dance with Sheray Saugstad. She joined the performance program which included a combination of fusion belly dance, modern, stretch and strengthen and choreography classes. During the short time dancing at Labyrinth Dance, Ashley enjoyed learning and performing at unique shows such as Light on My Feet and the Eves of Destruction Roller Derby's half time show.

After Labyrinth Dance disband in 2012, Ashley was looking for another place to continue dancing and luckily found Candace at Harmony BellyDance. She has learnt so much about the history and art form of tribal fusion belly dance from Candace's classes and all the influential dancers like Kami Liddle, Mira Betz, Rachel Brice and Mardi Love, Candace brings to Victoria for workshops and shows. She enjoys dancing with all the wonderful ladies in her class and Ruby Ruffles and looks forward to growing and learning in life and dance.
